The relatives of the three young girls slain in the Southport knife incident have met King Charles.
The intimate gathering took place in downtown London’s Clarence House, a royal mansion.
On Tuesday, the King had visited Southport and conveyed his “sympathy and empathy” to the locals.
Along with meeting emergency personnel and survivors, he also signed a book of condolences.
On July 29, Bebe King, age six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, age seven, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, age nine, lost their lives when an assailant broke into a dance class on Hart Street with a Taylor Swift theme.
Leanne Lucas, a 35-year-old yoga instructor, was one of ten people who suffered severe injuries; she was just readmitted to the hospital.
Following their meeting at the Southport Community Fire Station, Southport MP Patrick Hurley stated, “He was very keen to express his sympathy and empathy.”Extremely eager to convey to the residents of Southport that, from a symbolic standpoint, the nation is thinking about them.”
“Very terrifying”
The King paused to view the offerings, bouquets, and plush toys left in front of Southport Town Hall.
Before seeing some of the kids who survived the attack, their families, and the police liaison team assisting them, he met the throngs of people who had come to see him.
